On July 3, 2006, the unthinkable happened.  Kaitlynn, just 7 years old, passed away from a brain tumor.  Kaitlynn's Mom, Mandi, is my cousin.  Kaitlynn was a sweet, beautiful princess.  She had a very aggressive brain tumor.  Within 2 weeks of finding the tumor, she passed away.  Because of where the tumor was located, the doctors were unable to remove it.

We hear about this sort of thing everyday in the news.  Our hearts go out to the families and then we go on about our day.  We never realize how badly this affects the families, or how it could one day affect us.  Then that day happens, and we wonder why this precious little girl or boy is afflicated with such a horrible cancer or disease.  I never thought that this could happen to anyone I knew, but it did.

I created this website for two reasons.  One is to raise money for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.  St Judes never turns down a child for treatment.  They not only treat childhood cancers, but they also research new ways for treatment, prevention, and cures. 100% of the profit from my awareness bracelets is donated to St Judes.  The only money I keep is what the beads cost me so that I can replenish them.  I do not keep anything for my time or thread.

The other reason I created this website is show off some of my other jewelry I have for sale.  I would love to be able to run a successful business off what I make off the awareness bracelets, but since I don't make a profit off from them, I need to be able to sell some of my other jewelry.  I have set up my jewelry for sale on etsy.  My store is located at www.amtreaz.etsy.com.
